Lucy Siegel Bridge Global Strategies
I came to consulting after 40 years in communications. I started with journalism, then shifted into corporate communications and then finally moved into the PR agency world. I’ve worked for six agencies, including two New York City agencies I founded and ran for a total of 18 years.
My introduction to the public relations agency world came in Tokyo, at Cosmo Public Relations. I was the first non-Japanese to be appointed to Cosmo’s board of directors. When I returned to the United States, I opened a New York subsidiary for Cosmo. A couple of years later I founded my first PR firm, Siegel Associates International, which served mainly Japanese organizations. I ran the firm for seven years before selling it to mid-size agency Lobsenz Stevens, which was acquired by the Publicis Groupe. After the acquisition I became an Executive Vice President at Publicis, co-heading public relations at an integrated marketing subsidiary.
In 2004 I founded my second agency, Bridge Global Strategies, which worked mainly with startups and foreign companies in the U.S. In early 2015, after 11 years, I sold Bridge to integrated marketing agency Didit.
I’ve counselled companies of all sizes in many industries, ranging from small startups to General Motors. I’ve worked with clients in a wide range of industry sectors, including healthcare, technology, financial services, manufacturing, professional services, consumer lifestyle, travel/hospitality and the non-profit sector. I’ve developed PR strategies for products as diverse as cookware, commodities and copper interconnect systems, and served the U.S. PR and marketing needs of clients from 10 countries.
I’ve also been instrumental in founding two non-profit membership organizations, New York Pharma Forum, which was a client for over 25 years, and PR Boutiques International (PRBI), within my own industry. I was the first president of this international network of boutique PR firms and am the organization’s first emeritus member.
I’ve served on the board and as an officer of the Public Relations Society of America’s NYC Chapter and of Women Executives in Public Relations. I’m also a member of the Executive Circle of the American Marketing Association.
